Quotes and Things

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.

Matt. 28:19-20 (NIV)

ImageCultivating Healthy Churches

We believe that the church is God’s means to carry out His mission in the world.  His mission is carried out through Christ-honoring, biblically based, prayerful, healthy congregations.  Such congregations love God with their whole being and love their neighbor with dedication and commitment.  The Pacific District Conference of the Mennonite Brethren is committed to help member congregations become healthy vibrant organisms committed to make a difference in their communities and in the world through sharing the good news of the gospel and serving people in need.

The old axiom, if you have your health you have everything, may be true of our physical bodies, but it is also true of the church.  While some churches show signs of dynamic health, many have plateued, and some are declining.  Some studies indicate that 80-85% of all churches are either plateaued or declining.  For that reason the Pacific District of the Mennonite Brethren is committed to provide resources, congregational assessments, and coaching to assist churches to become healthy, growing and dynamic communities of faith.  Strong healthy churches are essential if we are to fulfill the mission Christ has given his church to make disciples of all nations.
